President & CEO

Shelly-Ann Mohammed is the founder of the Latin American & Caribbean Counsel Association. She brings a wealth of experience to her role as President & CEO of LA&CCA (formerly known as the Association of Caribbean Corporate Counsel Ltd. where she was the founder & CEO). With over a decade of experience as a lawyer and Chief Executive Officer of multiple professional organizations, she has made significant contributions to the professional landscape in the region.

Shelly is the former founder, President & CEO of the Association of Caribbean Counsel, responsible for developing and implementing strategy for the region. In this role, she worked closely with local government, professional Ministers of Legal Affairs, Attorney General’s Offices, Ministers of Legal Affairs, employers, and other stakeholders to develop forward-looking strategies aimed at helping professionals in the region adapt to the future drivers of change. Among these drivers are regulatory changes, new technologies, and increasing expectations. Additionally, she focused on building the competencies needed to help organizations sustain economic growth and compete both nationally and internationally.

She has over a decade of experience as a lawyer, former Group Chief Legal Officer and Chief Executive Officer of multiple professional organizations. She was a Director and Corporate Secretary on over 30 international boards. She has lived and worked in South America, Caribbean, United Kingdom, Europe, and United States. She has tirelessly fought to provide greater opportunities and to level the playing field for people in Latin America & the Caribbean.

She also holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration (Distinction) Degree from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, Trinidad.
